Every year a Chapel service is held in remembrance of those who lost their lives during World War I and World War II. The service is mostly dedicated to the 24 Anselmians who sadly lost their lives in combat during WWI and WWII.
2020 Remembrance service
The 2020 Remembrance service was held in chapel, but was also made avaliable via zoom for those who couldn't attend in person (due to coronavirus restrictions).
The recording of the service can be found here.
2021 Remembrance service
The 2021 Remembrance service was held on Tuesday the 9th of November in the dining hall due to ongoing repair work on the Chapel roof.
We remembered all those who lost their lives in the World Wars, but paid particular homage to the Slemsman who sacrificed themselves for our country. Each Slemsman had their biography read aloud by a student, alumni, friend of the hall or the current hall Chaplain (Hugh Bearn).
Poppy wreaths were laid and the service was attended by the Royal Artillery Band (pictured below).
